The Summer House, Cotswolds: Barn Conversion Sky-Frame

As the specialist glazing supplier for the transformation of a dilapidated Grade II curtilage-listed 17th-century cart shed in The Cotswolds, we played a key role in creating “The Summerhouse”—a stunning blend of historic charm and modern design. This project marks the first phase of an extensive renovation of a beautiful Cotswold Manor House and its outbuildings.
Situated in a breath taking location on the estate, The Summerhouse seamlessly merges indoor and outdoor living, with panoramic views over wildflower meadows and the open countryside. A key architectural feature is the open-fronted glazed elevation, where our recessed Sky-Frame frameless sliding doors take centre stage. These high-performance doors not only maximise natural light but also maintain a minimalist aesthetic, creating an uninterrupted visual connection between the interior and the landscape.
The project involved carefully dismantling the original structure, reconstructing the stonework, and sensitively repairing the elm trusses. The result is a refined and elegant space featuring wide plank Dinesen floors, underfloor heating, and the striking Sky-Frame glass façade, which contributes to the contemporary yet timeless atmosphere.
We are proud to have supplied and installed the Sky-Frame sliding doors, which perfectly complement the architectural vision and enhance the building’s unique character.
