North Somerset, Private Pool building: Schüco & Custom Glazing

CW Schüco Custom glazing (4)

We were proud to supply and install the custom structural glazing and Schüco doors for this stunning new swimming pool extension. Designed as a residential addition to a Grade II Listed private home, the project required a contemporary yet subtle approach to complement the historic setting.

The pool building, conceived as a standalone pavilion, is nestled within the lower levels of a courtyard garden, directly adjacent to the north elevation of the main house. Its thoughtful design allows for seamless access to the pool from the house, making it usable throughout the year.

Our frameless structural glazing plays a crucial role in the building’s modern aesthetic, creating a glazed box that floods the interior with natural light while offering unobstructed views of the garden and sky. The expansive glazing also enhances the connection between the indoor swimming area and the surrounding landscape.

We also installed premium Schüco doors that provide effortless access and maintain the building’s sleek, minimalist appearance. The high-performance glazing and door systems contribute to the thermal efficiency of the structure, ensuring comfort in all seasons.

The pool itself, lined with slate and featuring an ‘infinity’ end, is beautifully framed by the glazing, offering a serene visual connection to the koi carp pond and the cascading terraces beyond. The combination of innovative architectural design and our high-quality glazing solutions has resulted in a light-filled, elegant space that harmonizes with its unique garden setting.
