Wyck Rissington: Barn Conversion

As the window and door supplier for Ansell’s Barn, we were proud to play a key role in bringing this remarkable architectural vision to life. The transformation of a series of disused agricultural buildings into a striking, energy-efficient home demanded not only aesthetic sensitivity but also high-performance glazing solutions.
To meet these demands, we supplied and installed premium Sky-Frame and Schüco windows and doors, chosen for their exceptional thermal performance, minimal sightlines, and seamless integration with the building’s contemporary glass link structures. These systems were essential in realising Tyack Architects’ H-plan design, which elegantly connects the site’s original cottages – including a cart shed and Dutch barn – with light-filled, modern additions.
The combination of advanced glazing technology with traditional materials such as Cotswold stone and oak has resulted in a home that is both respectful of its rural heritage and firmly rooted in modern design. Our high-performance systems not only help to flood the interior with natural light, but also contribute to the home’s energy efficiency and comfort – essential for a space designed to house a growing collection of art.
This thoughtful conversion doesn’t just preserve the character of the original site; it enhances the wider conservation area by replacing an unsightly group of buildings with a refined and timeless home. The finished result is a testament to collaboration and quality – a home that is inspiring, practical, and a joy to live in.
